Welcome to a seminar on Solar Energi in Urban planning, focusing active and passive solar in Comprehensive Planning, New Urban Environments and Sensitive landscapes. Comprehensive Planning experinces from two EU-projects are presented. The need to balance modern needs for renewable energy with cultural and historical heritage, agricultural value, aesthetic values together with economical values such as tourism or ecosystem services are adressed in Solar energy in Sensitive Landscapes. The last sec-
tion adresses the challenges of density, daylight and active solar energy in planning urban areas.
